International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Southern Chapter Update

While the last couple of years have presented challenges, ISA Southern Chapter has continued to provide opportunities for training and Continuing Education Units. The biggest ISA Southern Chapter event in SC has been the annual Certified Arborist Prep Class. This two-day class reviews the Certified Arborist study guide chapter by chapter to help prepare for the ISA exam. The class has been held in the Environmental Education Center located in Columbia at Harbison State Forest. The class is usually held in late summer or early fall and we look forward to having it again in 2022. Be on the lookout for dates of the next class coming out soon!
ISA Southern Chapter has also held multiple in person Certified Arborist, Municipal Specialist and Utility Specialist exams in SC. The goal is to have at least two each year. The next exam in SC is scheduled for February 9, 2022 at the Harbison State Forest Environmental Education Center. To sign up visit the ISA website.
Southern Chapter is working to bring more regional workshops to areas in the chapter and is finalizing details for an in person annual conference in Winston Salem, NC March 26-29, 2022.
