Scholarships Available
Trees SC is pleased to announce a limited number of scholarships available to help off-set the registration cost of attending either the Arborist Workshops or the Annual Conference. This is a free registration scholarship intended for those that would be prevented from attending an event due to financial hardship. Applicants are eligible for only one event. Applications will be reviewed by a committee of the Board of Directors and if approved, you will be notified and automatically signed up for the educational event of your choosing. These scholarships are made possible through the silent auction donations at previous Trees SC annual conferences.
Deadline for submission is 10 days before event.
Professional Events
These programs target professionals in the green industry, including arborists, foresters, landscape architects, civil engineers, planners, horticulturists, and others in the green industry. In addition to our annual conference and South Carolina Arborist Workshops, which are full-day, multi-subject programs, we offer concentrated workshops that address specific topics. Examples of these workshop topics include nursery standards, electrical hazards, tree diversity, and climbing safety and techniques.
Community Events
Through our Canopy Sessions, we educate homeowners, civic clubs, and non-profits on tree-related issues. By working through a local partner, we develop a program to address a specific concern to the local community. Previous sessions focused on proper tree planting techniques (site prep, tree selection, and planting); right tree, right place; pruning; and writing tree ordinances. To plan a Canopy Session in your community, please contact us.
