Welcome to our new Executive Director! Sarah Morris
We are pleased to announce, welcome and introduce our new Executive Director, Sarah Morris. Sarah has been with us just a few short months but has hit the ground running!
Sarah has an extensive background in the plant industry over the past 45 years. She comes to us from the City of Charlotte where she was the Capital Improvement Project Landscape Coordinator. In that role, she was responsible for the design and installation of sustainable landscape projects for the Charlotte Capital Improvement and Trees Charlotte programs.
Prior to that she worked at Baucom’s Nursery in Charlotte, NC as the Horticulturist and Greenhouse Manager and at Brackett’s Greenhouse & Vineyards in Mt. Airy, NC as well as at Shuford’s Home & Garden in Hickory, NC as the Floriculturist and Greenhouse Manager.
Sarah holds a B.S. in Biology & Chemistry from Limestone College with special emphasis on botany and environmental conservation with concentration in water quality. In addition she is an ISA Certified Arborist.
She has served leaderships roles in the Society of Municipal Arborists, Partners in Community Forestry & SMA Annual Conference and participated in the program development and implementation of SMA’s national conferences for 6 years. Sarah is a graduate of the Municipal Foresters Institute and holds memberships in the Society of Municipal Arborists, ISA and TreesCharlotte.
